MY PRAYER AND ASPIRATIONS

Born a Tibetan in the expansive land of Tibet,
I, to repay the kindness for nurturing my body and mind
With the knowledge of five essences of honey, milk and Tsampa,
Resolve to build an abode for healing to the poor and unaided.

I pray that the wide broad petals
Of the lotus of happiness and joy
Eradicate the painful illness and disease
Arising due to elemental disharmony and disorder.

An ardent wayfarer, I am.
Born in the land of Tibet
I now stand stranded in the web of exile
Far from the lofty snow mountains of homeland.

I have kept one good thing to myself-
My positive mind, my amusing attitude!
If I have no wisdom, nor determination
Then no matter how much I am praised
Non, apart from me, will be amused or amazed.

Lured by the face of the “Eight Worldly Concerns”
My body, speech and mind trailed behind tirelessly.
For others’good, I dared to say anything, to everything.
Unaware of my potential, I am confident to reach all heights.
Steadfast and persistent in my works.
I crave for nothing, yet hate none.
This,I say, is my innate self,
My true nature! Myself!

Affected by the five poisons of afflictions,
Sickness, disease, suffering, pain and torture
Pervade all beings in all realms.
May you, O Compassionate Medicine Buddha
Turn victorious over them all.
